Our association is supported by the work and time of volunteers. Join one of our teams and help us keep the mountain open, safe, and alive.
Purpose
This Regulation establishes the framework for the establishment and operation of Volunteer Committees of EOS Iliopolis, with the aim of:
- the active participation of members in the club's work,
- the dissemination of knowledge and responsibilities,
- the sustainability and qualitative upgrading of activities,
- the strengthening of collectivity and volunteerism.
The Committees function in a supportive and advisory capacity to the Board of Directors (BoD).
General Principles
- The Committees are staffed exclusively by members of EOSH.
- Participation is voluntary and unpaid.
- Contribution may be recognized through the Members Benefits System.
- Each Committee has a Coordinator.
- The Coordinator is approved by the BoD and serves as the liaison between the Committee and the BoD.
Volunteer Committees
1. Events & Education Committee
Responsibilities:
- Planning and support of informational and educational events.
- Proposals for topics related to mountaineering, safety, environment, mission experiences.
2. Climbing Programs Committee (Greece & Abroad)
Responsibilities:
- Study and comparison of programs from professional companies and mountaineering clubs.
- Proposal of new destinations based on participation, uniqueness, and mountaineering value.
- Support for planning the annual climbing program.
3. Trails & Environment Committee
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, cleaning, and basic marking of trails.
- Cooperation with public bodies and other clubs.
- Environmental awareness activities.
4. Hymettus Refuge Committee
Responsibilities:
- Support for the operation and maintenance of the Hymettus refuge.
- Organization of work days, cleaning, and minor technical interventions.
5. Safety & Risk Management Committee
Responsibilities:
- Collection of experiences and safety best practices.
- Support for the development of guidelines and recommendations.
6. Youth & New Members Welcome Committee
Responsibilities:
- Support for the integration of new members into the club.
- Informing new members about the operation, activities, and values of EOSH.
- Mentoring of beginner mountaineers and new members.
- Planning of activities to attract and engage younger members.
7. Communication & Club History Committee
Responsibilities:
- Support for communications (website, social media).
- Documentation and preservation of historical archives.
8. Sponsorships & Partnerships Committee
Responsibilities:
- Exploration of partnerships and sponsorships.
- Support for the material and technical needs of the club.
Term – Evaluation
- Participation in the Committees is evaluated annually.
- The BoD retains the right to restructure or suspend Committees.
Final Provisions
This Regulation is approved by the BoD and may be revised.
