Ilioupolis Alpine Club — Athens' voice on the mountain for 30+ years.
Our History
E.O.S. Ilioupolis was founded in 1995 with one mission: to bring Athens closer to the mountain. From the first trail markings on Hymettus to today's comprehensive training programmes, the club has grown into a 1,000+ member community.
We are a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation. Every euro we earn goes back into trail maintenance, climbing route bolting and training the next generation of mountaineers.

Maintain and promote safe access to Hymettus and Greek mountains for everyone — locals and visitors alike.
Community
1,000+ active members, six certified instructors, dozens of volunteers — a tight-knit community of mountain lovers.
Standards
EOOA-affiliated · UIAA-approved equipment · all instructors certified to teach beginners through medium-level mountaineering.
