If there is one route that gathers all the magic of Hymettus, then it is this one!
Through lush trails, shady routes and historic monuments, we get to know the most forested and perhaps most beautiful part of the mountain. It is an excursion that combines nature, history and leisurely hiking, ideal for both those taking their first steps in the mountains and more experienced hikers who want to enjoy a beautiful weekend route.
An excursion full of images, scents and little stories that make Hymettus so special.
💚 Remember: The small participation fee is the symbolic reward of a new leader - a student, unemployed or pensioner - who dedicates their time and knowledge to introduce you to Hymettus. With your participation you support the new generation of volunteers of EOS Ilioupoli.
We start from the Kaisariani Fire Station and follow an easy circular route through the greenest section of Mount Hymettus.
During the hike we visit the Taxiarchs (Frangomonastiry), pass by the hill with the Byzantine churches, the Kaisariani Monastery, the Botanical Path and the small church of the Ascension.
Our last stop is at Kalopula, where there is time for coffee, a soft drink or a small snack before we return to the starting point.
