Do you want to get to know Hymettus but have never tried hiking before? Or are you simply looking for a beautiful Sunday walk in nature? This excursion is exactly what you need!
We follow an easy and well-maintained trail that passes under the impressive climbing areas Green and Red, as well as the mysterious Hole Rock, where the famous cave of the bandit chief Bimpis is located.
A little later we reach the EOS Helioupoli refuge, at 500 meters elevation. There awaits us our beloved "balcony" with a panoramic view of all of Athens — the ideal spot for a stop, a snack and plenty of photos.
A small excursion with a large dose of nature, history and good company!
💚 Remember: The small participation fee supports a new club leader — a student, unemployed or retiree — who dedicates their time and knowledge to share with you the beauty of Hymettus. By participating, you actively support volunteering and the new generation of people who keep EOS Helioupoli alive.
We start from the Pyrofylakio and follow the path towards the climbing fields Green and Red, passing under the imposing rocks of Hymettus and next to the Hole Rock and Bimpisi's cave.
We continue until the shelter of EOS Ilioypoli (500 m.), where we take a break to rest and have a snack with a view that is truly worth it.
The return is via the Scouts Square, completing a pleasant circular route.
