About This Ascent

Sea on the right, sea on the left and an entire mountain in between!

The Geraneia Mountains hide one of the most beautiful hiking routes in Central Greece, through dense pine forests, impressive ridgelines and countless balconies with views of the Saronic and Corinthian gulfs.

We climb to the summit Pintiza (1.032 m.), enjoy the unique view towards the Isthmus of Corinth and continue through the Petra route, passing through the Monastery of the Holy Apostles until the historic Monastery of Osios Patapios.

And because no hike really ends without good company... the day closes with the necessary hydration (the old-timers know that this translates to good food and iced beer 🍻), while those who can still manage can complete the excursion with a dip in the sea.

After our arrival at Charavati Loutraki (280 m.), we start the ascent towards the peak Pintiza (1,032 m.), continuously enjoying panoramic views of the Isthmus, the Saronic and the Corinthian Gulf.

From the peak we continue towards the area of Petra and, passing through the Monastery of Holy Apostles, we end up at the Monastery of Osios Patapios, where the bus awaits us.

The day is completed with an optional meal at a local taverna and, for those who can never get enough of either mountains or summer, there is time for a refreshing swim.
