About This Ascent

Is there a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than a hike on our beloved Hymettus?

We start with the light of day and, through an easy and well-maintained path, climb leisurely towards the refuge of EOS Ilioupoli. There, at 500 meters altitude, awaits us the most beautiful "balcony" of Athens, to enjoy our snack as the lights of the city begin to turn on one by one.

The return is made from the well-known climbing fields Red and Green, completing an afternoon excursion ideal for those who want to get to know Hymettus, move in nature and share beautiful moments with the club's company.

From the Fire Station we follow the path towards Scouts Square and continue parallel to the dirt road towards the Monastery of Agios Ioannis Karea. With gentle slopes we reach the EOS Elioúpoli refuge (500 m.), where we make a relaxed stop for rest and a snack with panoramic views of Athens.
